Dear Fellow EFO Members:

Several years ago the EFO Board initiated a new award that would be used to recognize outstanding public servants in the state. EFO’s Public Servant Award recognizes an individual embodying the traits and attributes of the consummate public servant, i.e., an individual who routinely goes above and beyond his or her job description in providing service to the regulated community in general and EFO members in particular.

Eligibility:

  • A public servant’s qualifying actions for the award can be in the nature of a career of excellent service or for a single meaningful act, or any combination of the two.
  • Local, state and federal government employees, officers, and elected officials are eligible for the award.

Nominations must be made by an EFO member, be in writing and provide a detailed statement as to the basis of the nomination, including example(s) of the nominee’s actions warranting the award.

Last year Jerry Barnett, who had recently retired from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, received the award.  In 2013, Steve Thompson, the former executive director of the ODEQ, received the award.

The Board is asking for your nomination for this prestigious award. Please submit your nomination to me at bud@environfdok.org by September 18th.

We look forward to seeing your Nomination. If you have any questions or need further information, please email or call me at (405) 843-5745.

Sincerely,

Howard Ground
